-Keeping an Eye Open… The Board needs your help!  Anyone noticing suspicious behavior around the Boat Launch lock, please notify the Police immediately, and then a Board Member. Our Locks have been cut twice in the last year, using your dues to replace them.  If you hear or see or know who…let your phase leader know.  Your name will not be disclosed. Help take a bite out of crime in our Community.

A Note from your Treasurer…
Please continue to send in your dues.  Before you send in a payment that’s less than the $330.00 dollars, I must be contacted first.  A note written in with a partial payment doesn’t constitute an arrangement to pay the balance at another time.  Please read the information on your invoice which tells you when your dues must be paid which is 30 days after you receive the invoice.
Have a problem which inhibits your paying on time?  We are willing to help.  You are all wonderful people who help each other and want to live in a good and happy place.
As Always,
Thanks to all of you
Evelyn Bordelon, Treasurer, etc.

**Please send your Homeowner dues check payable to Homeowners Association of Lake Ramsey, Inc.

What fits your busy schedule better…exercising one hour a day are being dead 24 hours a day?
Questions…Questions????

How do you determine who gets a Gate Card and who doesn’t?
The gate cards are given as follows:
-When you purchase a home or lot in Lake Ramsey you are given 2 gate cards. (They can be picked up from Evelyn Bordelon, (” keeper of the cards”).
-For every licensed driver that lives (resides with proof on license), at the Lake Ramsey address, an additional card can be purchased for $20.00.
-Should an additional person come to reside in the residence, they will be given a card and 30 days to change the address on their license to the new Lake Ramsey address. (also required by law)  If the change of address is not received by Evelyn, within the 30 days, the card will no longer be active.

What happens if my card gets lost or stolen?
Any lost or stolen cards will be deactivated and you can purchase another for $25.00

I am buying a home being built in Lake Ramsey. Can I get a card?
You will get a card only if you are the owner of the lot.  If the Contractor is the owner, then you can receive your cards after the act of sale.

I own the lot and already have two cards… can I get another for my Contractor for an extra $20.00?  Once again, only the owners get cards, but you can give him one of your cards to use. However, the gates are open during the weekdays when the Contractors are at work.  Contractors are not to work in the Subdivision on weekends or after 6:PM or before 7AM, to avoid disturbing the residents.

Why does Lake Ramsey have so many restrictions on the gate cards?
Lake Ramsey Subdivision is not like most.  We have the responsibility of the Lake and the safety of all who enter in.  Keeping cards limited …helps to insure a safer community.

January Meeting News

January’s meeting was held at the home of Evelyn Bordelon which was richly decorated with a Mardi Gras theme.  Thank you Evelyn for being our hostess.

At the meeting it was decided that the dues would be raised to $50 per couple, but single members would pay $30.  Also it was decided that each quarterly party/event will have a committee assigned to it.  The  6th Annual Crawfish Boil and Fishing Rodeo will be held the last Saturday in March.  The Easter Egg Hunt is yet to be decided.  We will be working in conjunction with the Homeowner’s Association on two neighborhood clean-ups this year the first one is schedule for Saturday, April 19.

There are a lot of things we want to do this year and we are looking for committed members to join and help out.  At the February potluck and meeting to be hosted by Ronnie and Marianne LaPorte, we want everyone to bring a potential new civic club member, whether they are new neighbors or longtime neighbors, everyone is welcome and we are looking for a big crowd!

General Announcements

Lake Ramsey’s Second Annual Garage Sale
It may only be February, but it’s time to starting thinking “spring cleaning.”
Mark your calendars; Lake Ramsey’s Second Annual Garage Sale will be Saturday, April 5, from 7 a.m. till noon.

Last year we had a fabulously cool, sunny day; everyone had fun and made a profit; a perfect day!  Personally, I enjoyed meeting some more neighbors, both sellers and buyers.

Once again, as last year, I’ll take care of getting the classified advertisement placed, and the signage put
out on the roads.  Our gate will remained locked, but fliers will be provided at the keypad with a list of all participants’ addresses, some items available for sale and several key codes.  Sellers are asked to keep their cordless phones with them to buzz our customers into the subdivision.

You will need to fill out a sign up form (providing your address, some special merchandise you want advertised and your gate code).  This year I ask for a small $3.00 fee (per participating family) to cover the ad and signs.  After that, all you need to do is start your spring cleaning, price your treasures and set your “store” up on Saturday, April 5th.  For more info, please e-mail me at LakeLife4Us@bellsouth.net or call me, Elizabeth Schallenberg, at 893-6991.

Did you Know?????
-The Boat Launch Keys will be changed Feb. 15, 2008, so be sure to get your new key from Bill White. (Your “08” HOA dues must be paid before you can get your key).
-A lost Boat Launch Key cost $100.00 to replace.  OUCH!… Please don’t lose it, or lend it.

Fear Not …With all of the rain this month, David Guidry has opened the Riverlake weir to lower the lake.

WANTED…Recipes for OUR LAKE RAMSEY COOK BOOK are needed. We have some awesome cooks that live out here and others of us could use some help!!! Please share at least one of your favorite recipes with us. More would be greatly appreciated.  I know personally that I get tired of the same old recipes.  However, those recipes that you don’t want to see at the POT LUCKS…save them for yourself. Otherwise…we will give you credit for the first year we use YOUR recipe, and then it is up for grabs :) The ladies that are in charge are:  Paulette Hecker (809-0897) and Jan Clark (892-1265).  Let’s all get behind them and make the recipes in this cook book delicious and desired by all.

BABYSITTERS… Anyone interested in participating in a babysitting network, please contact     Amanda Day @ 875-0709.

You are invited to an In-Depth Christian Worldview Experience…
Focus on the Family’s The Truth Project is a DVD based small group study that practically and personally introduces viewers to the truth claims of God. ( For more information call: Pat or Ron Burrow at 875-7717)  We will be starting this study soon.
