A Note from Your President…
Dear Homeowners of Lake Ramsey,
Happy New Year to All!!!!
As we begin a new year, I would like to thank the outgoing Board Members for their faithfulness and hard work. Each one played an important part in the accomplishments of the year. I’m excited about working with our new Board Members to meet our Community’s needs and make it an even better place for us all to live.
We will be looking at Covenant enforcement, doing a study of the Lake and its fish, and Community work days, etc.
I hope our attendance by homeowners will increase this year at our monthly meetings. Silence in any situation is acceptance. Please let your voice be heard. I am looking forward to serving our homeowners this year. Please feel free to call me with your issues or input. My # is 985-875-7717 or cell-985-966-2943. My email is patnor03@yahoo.com
Sincerely,
Ron Burrow
LRHA President

Civic Announcements
The First Annual Christmas Tree Tour was held on Sunday, December 9th. It was a Hugh success. We had eleven homeowners who volunteered to show their trees. Each one was as beautiful and unique as the next one and truly showed the personalities of their homeowner. Many thanks to all the people who displayed their trees.
Santa arrived by party barge on Sunday, December 16th. Much to the delight of the children who were in attendance, they received some early Christmas presents from Santa Claus. He took time to listen to all the children and hear their last minute wishes. Thanks to Ron & Pat Burrow for opening up their home for this event. I think the Hot Chocolate was a big success and there were more than enough snacks to feed everyone. Many thanks to Santa Claus, his reindeer, and all his little elves, that helped with this event.
Thanks to Carl & Rita Rebouche for opening up their home for their annual Gumbo party on December 21st. In case you missed this event, hopefully you can catch it next year.
The Lake Ramsey Civic Association Annual Holiday Dinner was held on Saturday, December 29th at Annadele’s Plantation. The attendance was great and the buffet was enjoyed by all. The Chinese Christmas Exchange was a lot fun with many gifts exchanging hands. If you missed this lovely year end event and would like to attend this and other parties and functions in 2008, be sure and pay your membership fees and join us.
Our next Civic Association Pot Luck Dinner will be held on Thursday, January 17th at the home of Evelyn Bordelon, 13611 Riverlake Dr. Please plan to attend and remember your membership fees are due. The new board is meeting and will make their announcement of who the new officers will be at that time.
I want to thank Susie Boutte, Camille Steen, Amanda Day, and Ceanne Hirstius who served on the board with me at this time. Especially to Susie who planned our events, made the Easter Bunny come to life, organized the Oktoberfest Chili Cook Off, who made the Christmas Tree Tour a Reality, contacted Santa Claus and his helpers for Santa on the Lake and in general helped make this into a successful year. Also thanks to Camille for her diligence in keeping us on budget, for Amanda who kept the minutes and also found time to form a babysitting network and made sure that some of our events were children friendly and to Cezanne who kept us on track. I want to especially thank all of you who gave of their time and support without your help we could not have made this all happen. I have enjoyed being your Civic Club President and I know that 2008 will even be a better year.
Juanita Bild
Lake Ramsey Civic Club President 2007
Speeders Beware…The Police have been seen ticketing speeders in the neighborhood so…slow down and keep your hard earned money.
Questions…Questions????
I’m new to the neighborhood… how do I get a newsletter?
The newsletters are put in the front mailbox by the information sign around the first week of the month. When the arm is up… the newsletters are in. Just stop by and pick one up. A notice is also sent via email that they are in. If you would like to receive a newsletter through your email, send me an email requesting it, and I will add you to the email list. baheumann@aol.com
Another way is to access it through the web site. www.lakeramsey.homestead.com, (click on newsletter)
General Announcements
You Make the Difference…A HUGE Thanks to Kelly Verrett for sharing her photography gift with us. She graciously took pictures of Santa and the children as they received their gifts. You made memories for us all…Thank You Kelly, for making it more special!!!!
(Call Kelly to get your pictures, if you haven’t already. 809-7428)
You light our path… Thanks to all who, in spite of their busy schedules, took the time to decorate the front gardens. It is a beautiful sight to see during the Christmas Season and a reminder of how beautiful this place is, and how fortunate we are to enjoy it daily.
Community Builder…Get involved…Your community needs YOU!!!
Building a Safer Community…
If you see speeding or know of vandalism going on, please call the Police first and then your Phase Leader. This will keep us all in the know. The squeaky wheel gets the oil, so ….. the more we squeak, Lake Ramsey, the more attention the police will give us. Let’s all do our part to keep this community safe and enjoyable for everyone.
Fear Not... If you hear shots going off in the Wild Life Preserves, it’s just hunting going on. From November 17 to the end of February, hunters are allowed to use bird shot for small game. However, they are not allowed to come within 1,000 ft. of your property. If you notice someone closer to your home or using a firearm of a larger caliber, you can call 911 and ask them to connect you with the Wild Life & Fisheries. *Also you may hear shots from the distant rifle range, Tallow Creek, off of 1077. Sound really travels around here.
WANTED…Recipes for OUR LAKE RAMSEY COOK BOOK are needed. We have some awesome cooks that live out here and others of us could use some help!!! Please share at least one of your favorite recipes with us. More would be greatly appreciated. I know personally that I get tired of the same old recipes. However, those recipes that you don’t want to see at the POT LUCKS…save them for yourself. Otherwise…we will give you credit for the first year we use YOUR recipe, and then it is up for grabs :) The ladies that are in charge are: Paulette Hecker (809-0897) and Jan Clark (892-1265). Let’s all get behind them and make the recipes in this cook book delicious and desired by all.
BABYSITTERS… Anyone interested in participating in a babysitting network, please contact Amanda Day @ 875-0709.
You are invited to an In-Depth Christian Worldview Experience…
Focus on the Family’s The Truth Project is a DVD based small group study that practically and personally introduces viewers to the truth claims of God. ( For more information call: Pat or Ron Burrow at 875-7717) We will start this in the latter part of January.
