   Merry Christmas…Happy Holidays
There is so much commotion going on now about Christmas.  Many are offended by the Nativities in schools, malls and other public places.  Stores are saying “Happy Holidays” instead of  “Merry Christmas” so as not to offend anyone.  I am offended.  Christmas is a time of buying and giving because God first gave Christ to us in a manger to save His people from their sin.  Without Christ in Christmas all you have to celebrate ….is WINTER

Congratulations And Welcome aboard… to our New  Homeowners Board Members…
  Charles Cranford    Steve King
  Carl ReboucheTom Jarlock
  Sandy Miller

Those of us who are leaving the board… Jan Miller, Bill White, Jan Clark,  Frank Rabb  and myself, Pat Heumann, your editor,… would like to say THANK YOU for the privilege of serving you these past two or ( in some cases) three years  We stand together to congratulate the five new board members who are joining our existing board in making Lake Ramsey an even better place to live.  We give you an awesome challenge and hope that you will do it proudly, knowing that it is an honor to serve in this capacity.  We thank you ahead of time for being willing to give of your time and talent to better our community, and we look forward to working with you for the next two years.

Mirror, Mirror, on the wall …Who will clean up after All??
__________________________________________________________________________________________________

You may have noticed…. that some piles have been taken and others have not.  Our debris is being picked up in stages. We’re not sure why, but we do know that the tree debris must be 9 ft off of the street curb to even be considered for pick up.
So if you are tired of waiting here are a few phone numbers to call for help…

hang out with people that make you laugh,
watch a funny movie, or just learn to laugh at yourself
when you do something dumb.(instead of beating yourself up)
Life is too short to fret over the small stuff.
Determine to live healthier … Laugh out loud.

Sandy Miller        (Srg.)

From Lake Ramsey Civic Association:
Christmas dinner at Jacmel’s was a special night.  Good food and good friends make a wonderful combination and was a great way to start off the holiday season.  The gift exchange made for some interesting comments and lots of fun.  Still can’t believe Louis stole Ms Evelyn’s Santa!  Who wound up with the flashlights?  Who took home the vibrating bear?  Thank you to the person who brought the 1001 Things To Be Grateful For calendar.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who have contributed to the success of another year or the Lake Ramsey Civic Association.  A special thank you to the board member, Evelyn Billman, Treasurer Evelyn Bordelon, Secretary Paulette Hecker, Vice President and Sandy Miller our Srg. at Arms.  Ladies you have done an excellent job.  Also a “thank you” goes to all of those members who so graciously shared their homes for meetings and parties.  We do have such great neighbors here in Lake Ramsey.
As we enter 2006 (can you believe it) we can all look forward to another fun filled year with events overseen by the new board.  Welcome to them, Paulette Hecker, Faye Kellison, Ceane Hirstius, Jan Miller and Juanita Bild.  Best wishes for a really good year.  I‘m sure you will be hearing from them and the date of the first meeting shortly.
To those of you who are new, look for the Civic Club meetings which will be posted on the bulletin board, and come join us.
Thank You all for helping make this year a success even though we were pre-emptied by Katrina for part of that year and then the first rain in weeks came during our fall picnic.  It has been fun serving as your president.     Kathy Zeringue

What’s alive in Phase 5 (4a)
You may have seen the yellow Public Noticed sign in the front of Lake Ramsey notifying us of the meeting on the 13th of December regarding the undeveloped area across the Lake from S. Lakeshore Dr. known as Phase 4A. Those who went to the meeting said that it was very short as Mr. Mamoulides  requested that the development of Phase 4A be removed from the books.
For now… it is again quiet.

_Just so you Know…Questions and Answers…

Temporary residents… Katrina transplants will be able to get their own temporary gate card
Permanent Gate Key Pad HELP… is on the way.  The board is looking into a permanent sign by the keypad that you can actually read.  How nice will that will be :)
Uncut lots… Toni and Noel Faucheux (#985-624-5016) have taken over the responsibility of contacting owners and having lots cut when they are overgrown and un-kept.  We need more people to care enough and get involved.  Thank You Toni and Noel !!!
Homeowner dues… Most homeowners have paid their back dues, so lets make it unanimous and everyone get on board.  Do your fair share.   Where do I send them?  All homeowner dues should be sent to PO Box 1746…Covington, La 70434
Where… do I get a new boat launch key, information on building in Lake Ramsey, or stickers for our boats and cars…  Carl Rebouche will now be taking over the Architectural Committee

The Gate Information… for new residents…here is a little gate help.  If you forget your card….call a friend ,your phase rep. or the police.  They will let you in. Keep their phone numbers or a newsletter in your car for easy access.  If you are expecting company when the gate is closed, give them your access number.  This will be a number by your name on the key- pad.  Give that number to your guests when they come to visit.  All they need to do is punch in your number, nothing else.  The phone will automatically call your home.  And you of course, will press ”9” on your home phone to let them in.
* NOTE… the call has to come through the key- pad phone.  Their cell phone will not access the gate even if they are right by the keypad phone.

Move in #’s for New Neighbors… I hope this will make your transition easier

On a more personal note…I would like to thank you all for the privilege of being your editor for the last year.  I have thoroughly enjoyed keeping you updated on the cares and concerns we face out here in Ramsey.  I have not only considered it a privilege but also a pleasure. However, I will be passing the baton to Sandy Miller who will, I have no doubt, do an excellent job. Sandy… I hope you enjoy this experience as much as I have.  You Go Girl!!!
