Invitations to the Halloween party on Saturday the 29th will be going out to members of the Civic Association, within the next few days. Watch your mailbox. It will be fun to get together for a party, and a party is just what we all need right now.
Please mark your calendar for Sunday, November 6 at 5 p.m. We will be holding the election meeting at that time at Kathy and Louis Zeringue’s home. There will be desserts while the ballots are being cast and counted for the 2006 officers. This vote will be for members only, but guest are welcome to join us for the evening.
Also, please mark December 3rd for our Christmas Party Dinner. We have reserved a very nice restaurant for that date and will have tickets available early November with all information at that time. Katrina Rocks Our World…but not our Hearts…
A little over a month ago, the world, as “we” knew it, changed. Friends and family have moved in with us because Katrina ripped their world even harder than she did ours. Our area has doubled in population, as has our Real Estate market. We could run to the store without it taking hours and having to wait in line (just to get inside), and could do so without dodging tree limbs all the way there. Our Children and grand children were in school and we didn’t have to figure out which restaurants were open incase the electricity went out… again… and we couldn’t cook. (OK… so maybe the electricity doesn’t need to go out …I still wanted to know which restaurants are available, just in case.) Some of our homes look different on the inside and the outside… sporting plywood floors, a new blue roof, and of course the beautiful clothes hanging on our new, “not approved, clothes pin and line” dryers.
Yes, our world has changed but not our hearts. I have watched you come up higher. So many of you, with your own pain and devastation, have reached into your hearts of compassion and pocket books and touched others that have also been through the storm. I’m sure that you have experience what I have, through the generators and heat, that we saw our neighbors more. There is something about the air conditioners going off that brings people out doors. We ate together, talked through “approved” fences :), and shared each other’s concerns. Yes, Katrina may have rocked our world but certainly not our hearts. She has made us realize and appreciate what is really important.
Congratulations And Welcome aboard… to our New Homeowners Board Members…

We in Lake Ramsey would like to congratulate the five new board members who will be joining us in making Lake Ramsey an even better place to live. We trust that you will up hold the responsibility that you have been given….to protect our property values, our rights as a private community, and deal with each one fairly, as neighbors and friends. We give you an awesome challenge and hope that you will do it proudly knowing that it is an honor to serve in this capacity. We thank you ahead of time for being willing to give of your time and talent to better our community, and we look forward to working with you for the next two years.
Mirror, Mirror on the wall …who will clean up after All??
The Homeowner Association is in the process of arranging pick up for all of our hurricane TREE debris. Please have what you want removed (tree only) on the curb within the next two weeks, (This company will also be available for your personal debris removal, such as sheetrock, roofing materials and any thing else donated by Katrina and Rita, at a reasonable cost. (It must be in a separate pile)
”Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, (who work to exhaustion) and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you shall find rest for your souls. “For My yoke is easy (pleasant), and My load is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
I pray that you will exchange your heavy burden for His light load today… and find rest for your weary soul.

Keep their phone numbers or a newsletter in your car for easy access. If you are expecting company when the gate is closed, give them your access number. This will be a number by your name on the key- pad. Give that number to your guests when they come to visit. All they need to do is punch in your number, nothing else. The phone will automatically call your home. And you of course, will press ”9” on your home phone to let them in.
* NOTE… the call has to come through the key- pad phone. Their cell phone will not access the gate even if they are right by the keypad phone.
