Lake Ramsey Civic Association

Newsletter March 2009

The fishing rodeo held on March 21st was a huge success.  Can you believe that we had a 4 1/4 pound bass in our lake?  What a feast that fish must have been.  Pictures and details may be seen on our Lake Ramsey web site (www.lakeramsey.com) If you have not visited this site before, please do so, as it is filled with information on our paradise.  Web site is

The Civic Association is hosting a membership drive on Saturday, April 18th.  It will be by the mailbox in front of the subdivision.  The time is 9 AM until 3 PM.  Please tell your neighbors and friends that are not already members.

There is no sponsor at this time to host the Easter Egg Hunt.  If anyone is interested in hosting this for our children and grandchildren, please contact any of the board members.

Recipes for the Lake Ramsey cookbook are needed.  A flyer was distributed recently with instructions for writing and posting your favorite dishes.  Please go to the Lake Ramsey web site to obtain easy directions.

The next potluck will be held at Pipe and Kathy Hymel’s  house on May 15th.  Do not forget to participate in the 50-50.  The last jackpot in the amount of $72 was won by Darlene Parlipiano.

Speaking of the Parlipiano’s, Darlene and Joe held a St. Joseph altar at their home on March 19th.  For those that were in attendance, it was quite obvious of their labor of love in its preparation and artistic design (the food was also good).

The July potluck needs a sponsor.  If anyone wants to open their home for this event, please contact any of the board members.

The crawfish boil will be held on April 25th at 1 PM at the green space across the street from the springs.  Attendance is $20 per person (children 12 and under are free).  The tickets must be purchased in advance: please contact Don Hotard at 985-867-8594 or 504-650-7527. The cutoff date is April 19th.  In the event of rain, crawfish can be picked up at 13268 Riverlake Drive.  A flyer is to be circulated concerning this event, or please go to the website for more information.

If anyone would like to include any event or information in this newsletter, please contact Judy Heck at 985-871-7638.
