Seven intrepid fishermen braved brutally cold fishing conditions to participate in the first Civic Association only bass fishing rodeo.  With weather conditions less than favorable the results were not spectacular but with only minutes left Bob Panek overtook Louis Zeringue fishing in his boat and only yards away from his dock with a 2 pound 12 ounce bass.   Louis was the runner up with a 2 pounds 10 ounce fish.  The team of Jan Miller (he is the one hiding behind the fish) and Bobby Hecker came in with five bass and bringing up the rear was the three fisherman team of Gary Forbes, Noah Forbes and Mickey Stella with four bass.
There was suspicion that Panek had been brooding the bass in his fish holder and the vaunted catfish team of Joe and Darlene Parlipiano was a late scratch.  Some suspected that Joe faked his illness to avoid a sure $10 loss; or was it just the cold weather.

After a few beers the group disbanded to fish another day.
